Why is it important?
There has been an increase in hype surrounding blockchains and its associated technologies. This paper showcases the potential of the technology to be used in a practical aspect to solve real world problems such as the ability to protect and defend one's intellectual property rights.
Perspectives
The speed of which technology moves is fast. By the time this paper is published, there will be more novel ideas and solutions to solve a proof of existence issue. However, hopefully this paper can still serve as a primer and precursor for the uninitiated to start thinking about other use cases and potential that blockchain technology can provide for the world.
