What is it about?
We explored how recieving positive or negative emotional feedback from a cute virtual pet influenced motivation to complete their to-do list items. Users found the virtual pet engaging and motivation in a week-long study.

Why is it important?
This work suggests that users can be motivated by gamified emotional feedback, rather than more traditional methods like numerical levels, streaks or long-term in-app progression.
Perspectives
This article allowed me to explore a design that made people feel emotionally enriched when interacting when doing their day-to-day tasks, as opposition to the emphasis on productivity and efficiency seen in many other solutions.
