What is it about?
We have linked for the first time expert thinking to ordinary thinking and we have presented a roadmap as well as some tools to teach expert thinking skills to novices. This article is relevant to the topic of teaching young generations not only computational skills but also scientific and engineering thinking skills.

Why is it important?
Teaching expert skills to novices is at the core of today’s STEM education reform. But, unless these skills are spelled out in terms of fundamental cognitive skills, it would be very hard to realize this reform.
