What is it about?
I have been supervising team based final year student ICT projects for many years. These projects are team based and involve industry clients. In this paper I share some of the lessons learnt about team assessment, approaches to helping students work in teams, and creating authentic experiences for students to aid transition to professional practice.

Why is it important?
Anyone starting out with coordinating a capstone project experience (whether in ICT or not) will find this an interesting experiential paper with some practical suggestions.
Perspectives
I have spent many hours discussing my experiences with colleagues and this paper is an opportunity to reflect on my experiences after such a long time and pass on my experiences in a paper to a wider audience. I hope you find it useful.
