What is it about?
Radio access network enables wireless connectivity to many client devices. Virtualized radio access network is a disaggregated architecture that improves operational efficiency for telcos. With the ultimate goal of moving the radio access network functionalities to cloud, we explore Reinforcement Learning for dynamic resource allocation of CPU cores to virtualized radio access network.TO our surprise, reinforcement learning did not achieve compelling advantages and it is primarily due to the lack of support from testbed. We come up with list of work items to bring out the real potential of Reinforcement Learning for dynamic resource provisioning towards cloud radio access network.
