What is it about?
People who work on creating software are now paying more attention to making things sustainable and eco-friendly. But many developers don’t know the best ways to make their code use less energy. So, we looked into how software uses energy when it runs, trying to help developers see which parts of their code are using a lot of energy. We used test runs to find the parts that use a lot of energy and checked both the most and least active sections of the code. We discovered that parts of the code that create many tiny objects tend to use more energy. This information can help us understand better how making objects in the code affects energy use, especially in programming languages like Java.
