What is it about?
This use case study successfully demonstrates the feasibility of employing the Decentralized Identity on Blockchain model to identify and verify cultural heritage artifacts. These findings contribute to the current understanding of Decentralized Identity on Blockchain and its real-life applications in yet another field that is of paramount importance.

Why is it important?
It is very important that we are able to identify and track cultural heritage artifacts for a number of reasons: • To preserve our cultural heritage for posterity • To help law enforcement agencies and customs authorities combat the illicit trade of cultural heritage artifacts • To facilitate the various organizations and professionals - archeologists, museum professionals, art dealers, insurance companies, collectors, etc. - to uniquely identify, track and value cultural heritage artifacts.
Perspectives
This article introduces and defines a new term - Decentralized Identity of Artifacts (DIDoA).
