Why is it important?
FlashGuard is a novel runtime framework that detects and mitigates non-price flash loan attacks in DeFi protocols. We use smart contract function signatures to identify attacks in real-time and disrupt them by dispatching a dusting counter-transaction (a small amount of ERC20 token to/from the victim smart contract) to miners to change the victim smart contract state before the attack is confirmed. Our evaluation on 20 historical attacks shows high accuracy, low latency, and the potential to prevent $405.71M in losses.
