What is it about?

NeuRL is a free, no-code web tool that helps learners explore reinforcement learning and neural networks in real time by watching AI agents train and adjusting settings as they learn. Ideal for hands-on exploration in AI. https://neu-rl.netlify.app/

Why is it important?

NeuRL lowers the barriers to understanding AI by combining interactive learning, real-time visualization, and hands-on experimentation. This makes complex concepts like reinforcement learning and neural networks more approachable for everyone. NeuRL runs as a static web app, so it’s not limited by server constraints or expensive hosting. This means it can handle as many users as needed—boosting accessibility and keeping it free to learn from anywhere, on any device.

Perspectives

One of the biggest challenges in teaching AI is offering hands-on experimentation without the overhead of complex setup and coding. This paper stands out by addressing exactly that. With NeuRL’s real-time visualizations and broad accessibility, I believe learners can have the “aha” moments that demystify reinforcement learning. Observing—and tweaking—algorithm behavior as it unfolds bridges the gap between theory and application. My hope is that NeuRL will stimulate other organizations to provide similar free and accessible online resources.
