A battery energy model capable of realistically showing batteries voltage as a state of charge to be used along with other models in the popular ns-3 network simulator.

Why is it important?

Many battery models can be found in the literature, unfortunately, most of these models are either too complex to configure for average users or not available to network simulators. Accurate and simple-to-use measurement of energy consumption is of utmost importance in the development of future networks. This works fills the need for energy models for communication networks research.
