What is it about?
In forensic science face recognition, we cannot request high-quality face images from sources, but we have face images from CCTV grayscale on the crime scene at night, face images in RGB mode from Web Cameras, etc. The experiment uses Siamese neural network face recognition of both RGB and GRAY color modes to compare and show the performance of both color modes.

Why is it important?
Digital evidence is essential to support the justice process, under the recommendation of NIST and ENFSI, using the likelihood ratio to explain and defend how we can believe the evidence.
Perspectives
Technology can help in many areas, including justice. But many pieces of evidence may be fake, so forensic scientists must find ways to prove and support them in a sound judicial process.
