What is it about?
In today's world, the Internet of Things (IoT) includes devices and systems that interact with humans, and these advancements bring numerous benefits. However, many people worry about the amount of data these systems collect and share without their consent. Laws emphasize data protection and control by individuals, but most human-centric IoT systems lack mechanisms to manage data and resources in the user's control. This often leads to trust issues and a lack of transparency. To address these concerns, we propose a privacy-preserving model that utilizes blockchain technology. Our model focuses on managing consent and ensuring transparency in human-centered IoT environments. We implemented and tested our model in a realistic setting to demonstrate its effectiveness.

Why is it important?
The importance of the research lies in addressing the challenges associated with data privacy and transparency in human-centered Internet of Things (IoT) environments. With the increasing integration of IoT devices and systems into our lives, it becomes crucial to ensure that individuals have control over their data and can make informed decisions about its use. By leveraging the inherent features of blockchain technology, the proposed model aims to provide a solution that enables individuals to maintain control over their data and ensure transparency in how it is managed. This research is significant because it aligns with the emerging concept of Society 5.0, which emphasizes the inclusion of human-related aspects in IoT systems. By addressing the privacy and transparency challenges, the proposed model contributes to the development of more ethical and user-centric IoT environments.
Perspectives
We believe the model proposed in this paper has the potential to be considered for the design and implementation of new human-centric IoT-based systems in different contexts
