What is it about?

In order to train more effectively, understanding the position and force relationships of different types and genders of riders on different venues is important for guiding rider training. This paper employs a pacing strategy to study the impact of different venues on rider decision-making.

Why is it important?

In this paper, based on the test data of different athletes, the OmPD model is used to establish the rider's own power spectrum. In addition, the anaerobic work capacity has increased the constraints on decision-making. For different regions and tracks, after determining the local environmental parameters from the data, the optimization goal is to take the shortest time after spline interpolation. Finally, simulations were performed for the 2020 Olympics and the 2021 UCI World Championships, and power position curves were obtained.

Perspectives

This publication proposes a strategy arrangement based on the topology optimization algorithm for the road cycling individual time trial, which is a typical optimization problem. In theory, this publication has research in applied mathematics and computer science; in application, this publication has important implications for guiding the training of riders.
