What is it about?
This paper is a systematic survey of the literature that aims to investigate fog computing technology in smart city platforms. We investigated several platforms' features, including architectural aspects, multi-tenancy support, communication model, and main supported protocols. We also related the platforms' conformity to the OpenFog Reference Architecture.

Why is it important?
Fog Computing is an emerging technology that can be applied in smart cities to enable many applications. The survey we conducted is an important artifact to understand what is currently being done and what gaps still exist to focus our efforts to advance the state-of-the-art.
Perspectives
The survey investigates several recently published papers in the literature. We have worked hard to survey state-of-the-art, and hope readers enjoy the text.
