What is it about?

GazeClassify is an open source python software package to automatically annotate mobile eye tracking data. Under the hood, machine learning algorithms are used to identify specific areas of interest. The package automates gaze annotations, specifically for studies of human interaction. In this study, the algorithm was validated against the performance of three manual raters.

Why is it important?

GazeClassify automates the annotiation process for mobile eye tracking data. Traditionally, manual raters are required to analyze eye tracking data on a frame by frame basis. Gazeclassify can perform the annotation process objectively, automatically and quicker than a manual rater.

Perspectives

Writing this article was a great pleasure, because we believe that the scientific community in eye tracking research can benefit from our open source software contributions. Hopefully, our article enables young researchers in the field to getting started with the analysis of mobile eye tracking data.
