What is it about?

The recent outbreak of the COVID-19 has led to the need for alternate sources of learning for students in tertiary institutions. Alternate learning systems such as Emergency Remote Learning, distance learning and e-learning have been adopted by institutions. Institutions sought to engage students during the lockdown period. In Nigeria there was little or no effort to use alternate learning systems hence students engaged in self-development using available e-learning platforms. There has not been any evaluation of students’ attitude to learning using e-learning platforms during this period. Thus, this study seeks to determine the attitude of higher education students in Nigeria to e-learning solutions during Covid-19. Students attending tertiary institutions were randomly selected using social media The results show that Nigerian students are engaged in electronic learning. It was recommended that the certificates be recognized and e-learning be introduced to tertiary institutions.

Perspectives

I consider the publication of this article with a reputable journal publication: ACM a big win in my academic path. My mentor who doubled as my co-author in this article has yet again shown to me the importance of research consistency. Lastly, I hope to believe that this article serves as an eye opener to the Nigerian Educational stakeholders with regards to their stand to online learning.
