What is it about?

This work analyzes third-party DNS, CDN and CA dependencies in modern webs services. The paper looks at various kinds of dependencies for example, twiiter.com user Dyn as DNS. This paper also looks at inter-service dependencies. For example, Let's Encrypt. a CA provider, uses CloudFlare as its DNS. Based on this, the paper tries to find out single points of failure in the internet and their impact if there is an outage. Moreover, this work also looks at the change in dependencies because of a major DDoS attack, Mirai-Dyn that happened in 2016. This helps in analysing how the websites with various popularity ranks, respond to such attacks.
