What is it about?
Identity and Access Management (I&AM) is the umbrella term for managing users and their permissions. Several approaches have been and are created to fit to different needs. We extend known requirements for I&AM, in order to provide an overview of approaches with their advantages and limitations.

Why is it important?
We compare different approaches with the gathered requirements. Our findings show that no approach targets all requirements and further work is needed.
Perspectives
I hope this paper can be used as a base for further work to improve identity management.
