What is it about?
More and more technical devices are populating our smart homes. Nowadays, these smart devices are connected to the Internet and are able to communicate with each other. With an increasing number of smart devices--from simple temperature sensors and light switches, to smart TVs and smart fridges, to intelligent vacuum cleaners and small mobile robots--keeping an overview of everything that is currently happening in your smart home becomes increasingly difficult and hard to manage. This work presents an interactive app that you can use to monitor and control devices and processes in your smart home from a tablet device or smartphone.

Why is it important?
Smart home devices usually bring their own app for control. With many devices from different vendors you will end up having a lot of apps installed and having to switch between them all the time. Our work puts all of these devices into one intuitive and well-arranged app that you can use to monitor and control your smart home. In the app we even integrate support for small service robots that you can send to specific locations on a map of your smart home and watch their live camera streams while moving.
Perspectives
The dashboard-based app is very valuable to prevent chaos on your smartphone. More and more smart devices will be in future smart homes. Thus, it is important to have a clear overview in one app of what is currently going on in the smart home and control devices and processes if needed.
