The effect of biochar on plant growth was tested in mineral soils in southern Ontario, Canada.

What is it about?

Overall there was no benefit to adding biochar on yield or quality of cabbage. This is consistent with many other studies that show that adding biochar can be a benefit where crops are grown on depleted tropical soils, but there is often no benefit to adding biochar to soils in temperate climates.
