What is it about?
Overweight people were using a higher proportion of their muscle activity capacity during standing as compared to normal weight people because of their higher body weight. In contrast, during sitting overweight people's muscles were more inactive as compared to normal weight people's muscles. Low muscle activity during sitting and high muscle activity during standing might increase the potential to get health benefits from replacing sitting with standing.
