What is it about?
This commentary was prompted following a recent article by Madkhali et al. (2019) that studied breast health awareness as perceived by women, staff nurses, and general practitioners living in the Jizan region in Saudi Arabia. It found that there are a cultural misconception and lack of awareness about breast cancer among Saudi women and staff nurses.

Why is it important?
This is an important finding because it indicates that nurses are not well trained to promote breast health among Saudi women; therefore, it is essential to equip nursing students with essential knowledge about breast cancer to provide high quality of nursing care.
Perspectives
Writing this article was a great pleasure as it touches on one of the most important health topics worldwide. More than anything else, I hope you find this article thought-provoking.
