Assessing the safety of electronic health records: a national longitudinal study of medication-related decision support

What is it about?

Despite rapid progress in digitizing the United States health system over the past ten years, many of the theorized benefits of electronic health records have not yet been realized. US hospitals electronic health records correctly prevented fewer than two-thirds of potential adverse drug events in a nationwide study using simulated patients and medication orders.
