What is it about?
The protocol aims to extend recent work demonstrating that a brain response demonstrated to have high specificity as a predictor of coma emergence suffers from low sensitivity because the response in question waxes and wanes across a 24 hour period and is easily missed if the typical "single test occasion" approach is employed. We believe the project described will contribute significantly to improving the ability to predict who will emerge from coma and possibly provide a timeline for emergence and the medical state at that point.
