What is it about?
Listening to the heart with a stethoscope can yield clues to an underlying diagnosis. We captured audio of a pericardial knock, an uncommon extra heart sound that can be an important clue to the diagnosis of constrictive pericarditis. There are few, if any, good audio examples of pericardial knocks available to the medical community. We hope the publication of this sound will facilitate its recognition and will lead to earlier diagnoses of constrictive pericarditis.
