What is it about?

Small bowel obstruction is a common reason for admission under a general surgical consultant but has many different causes. Whilst we are well practiced at dealing with some, adhesions, malignancy for example, other more rare causes are difficult to diagnose and pose challenges for consent and open communication with patients and families. This is a case of a rare cause of small bowel obstruction and outlines the value of shared decision making and open communication.
