Why is it important?

We do not know why the incidence of type 1 diabetes is increasing; exposure to toxic chemicals may provide one explanation. Reducing exposure may help prevent disease.

Perspectives

My son and I have type 1 diabetes, he was diagnosed at 23 months of age. The incidence of type 1 has been rising very rapidly in children under 5.
