What is it about?

This study reviews community health worker (CHW) involvement in preventive care for people in primary health care. Their roles include providing education and navigation to other services. It demonstrates the contribution that CHWs can make to improving access to preventive care for patients from culturally and linguistically diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds. This workforce is an important means of reducing inequalities in health and improving access to health care.
