What is it about?
Spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (OCT) measurement of the retinal nerve fiber layer thickness is commonly used for glaucoma evaluation. Among patients evaluated for suspected glaucoma, eyes with partial posterior vitreous detachments, compared to eyes without, were associated with greater thickness measurements of the retinal nerve fiber layer using this imaging technology. Clinicians should be aware of this relationship when evaluating patients for glaucoma.
