What is it about?
Molecular breast imaging (MBI) is a relatively new imaging technique for the detection of breast cancer. Although negative results can be reassuring for patients, positive results do not necessarily mean the patient has cancer and this can result in anxiety and further imaging tests. It is important that new imaging techniques are developed in parallel with conventional methods, in order to ensure that the best outcomes can be achieved for our patients.
