What is it about?
This is the foreword to a special issue in Automation and Remote Control (and also in Russian language in Avtomatika i Telemekhanika) dedicated to the 70th birthday of the Academician Vyacheslav Tanaev from the Academy of Sciences Belarus (Minsk), where I had a research stay in 1987 for five months.
