What is it about?
This paper introduces a fission yeast model expressing polyglutamine expansions. Unlike baker's yeast, fissions yeast does not show any polyglutamine toxicity and reduced aggregation.

Why is it important?
Our work shows that different organisms (yeasts) have vastly different capacities to manage protein misfolding and its toxicity. The content of misfolding-prone proteins in an organism's proteome cannot serve as a simple predictor for its capacity to prevent protein misfolding and its toxicity.
