What is it about?
We analyzed RT-SHIV genetic variation before, during, and after ART in a macaque model. Viral diversity did not decrease with suppressive ART, ongoing replication occurred when plasma viremia was >15 copies/ml, and in this model ART drug resistance likely emerged as a result of incomplete suppression and preexisting drug resistance mutations.
