Synthetic promoters for bacteria

What is it about?

In this work we generate simple, controlled promoters using synthetic DNA as the starting material.

Why is it important?

This work shows that one can generate promoters with a variety of strengths for any bacterium, without knowing beforehand the nature of promoters in the target organism.
