What is it about?

The paper is about the cell wall of 2 yeasts species: Candida albicans and Saccharomyces cerevisiae. We explored the cell modifications induced by the antifungal drug: Caspofungin.

Why is it important?

Candida albicans is a widespread opportunistic pathogen, that can be dangerous to immunodeficient patients. Understanding the mechanism of action of Caspofungin, a last chance molecule, is therefore of first importance

Perspectives

The next step would be to analyze the effect of caspofungin on adhesins expressed by candida albicans.
