What is it about?
Pilot study demonstrating potential of a simple, cheap test for detection of OXA-48 like carbapenemases
Featured Image
Why is it important?
Detection of OXA-48 like carbapenemases is a difficult diagnostic challenge. Molecular tests can yield falsely positive results.
Perspectives
This study reports a potentially important set of observations. It is important to determine if our findings can be confirmed and extended by a larger study. Unfortunately our lab did not have a sufficiently large collection of relevant isolates to take this work further.
