Drug resistance mechanism in vaginal Candida albicans clinical isolates.

What is it about?

This study designs two fluorescent based assays to analyze efflux pump mediated drug resistance in pathogenic fungus Candida albicans. These methods are faster and cheaper to analyze efflux pump mediated drug resistance in C. albicans.

Why is it important?

It is a first study demonstrating drug resistance in clinical strains of C. albicans isolated from patients with Vulvovaginal Candidiasis
