What is it about?

This was one of the first studies to establish a complete understanding of the crossover/non-crossover decision during meiosis. We show that the FANCM-orthologue of S. pombe, Fml1, directs processing of late recombination intermediates exclusively into non-crossovers in competition with the Mus81-Eme1 endonuclease which mainly delivers crossover events.
