Why is it important?

So far growth hormone has been considered as a main regulator of hepatic p450 gene expresion. This is the first report about the regulatory role of prolactin on hepatic p450 gene expression. P450 is deeply related to drug and steroid metabolism and hyperprolactinemia during pregnancy, lactation or prolactinoma may influence it.
