Why is it important?

This article applies the current Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans (Second Edition) to the design and operations of office buildings in order to encourage movement throughout the day.

Perspectives

The current public health agenda to encourage more movement while also reducing sedentary time requires interdisciplinary strategies to improve our built environment. It is my hopes that this article will inspire building design and operations that prioritize health-enhancing physical activity in office spaces.
