Why is it important?
Often sporting activities are determined because of mistakes late in contests caused by running low in exercise fuel. Our data suggest that hydrothermally modified corn starch ingestion before and at half time can reduce fatigue and, therefore, improve performance, especially late in games.
Perspectives
Hopefully, these data will help many appreciate the importance of nutrition for athletic performance as well as encourage scientists to continue the search for ways to help athletes perform better.
