What is it about?
Cross-laminated timber building are nowadays quite popular. In this paper two simple methods to predict the radiation efficiency and the transmission loss of such structures are presented. These models can be easily implemented. They require the panel geometric properties and the flexural wavenumber associated with its principal directions.

Why is it important?
The results show that the presented methods allow to obtain a good approximation of the experimental results, although several apporaximation have been done in order to derive simple models. The represent handy tools in the acoustic design of buildings.
