What is it about?
Blockage detection is important in urban water supply system. With Born approximation, we are aimed to provide real-time detection of blockage profiles in the water pipeline. We think it is essential to the smart urban water supply system.

Why is it important?
By using the Born approximation, we provide an explicit expression for reconstructing the profile of blockages in water pipelines with acoustic transients. We think this can be useful in a real-time water pipeline detection system.
Perspectives
While the result is simple, we think this work is important since we introduce complete wave equations in investigating the water pipeline system.
