What is it about?
The paper shows results of the underwater noise measurements in the Baltic Sea. The noise data were obtained in summer and winter seasons with contrastingly different sound propagation conditions, with using of two omnidirectional hydrophones located inside and outside the seasonal waveguide.

Why is it important?
The noise indicates their strong dependence on season, as well as on observation depth. Furthermore, it was found that the diel vertical migrations of fishes changes the sound attenuation (due to sound scattering on fish swim bladders) and could noticeably change the noise field inside the seasonal waveguide.
