What is it about?

We have built a system capable of imaging the blood flow in superficial capillaries over a large area, using laser light backscattered from the skin. We now compare the system to a verified single-point measuring system based on the same technique. Using state-of-the-art models from resent research we conclude that our new system provides comparable measurements to the single-point system, and that it clearly outperforms current commercial systems.

Why is it important?

This work shows that our new system has the potential to overcome many of the problems that similar techniques has.
