What is it about?
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) developed for Snow & Ice studies in particular but can be operated on different terrains in general, is developed at Space Applications Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad (ISRO). Extensive calibration and field measurements had been carried out and data processing algorithms are being developed for this. This GPR had been used in Antarctica for last three years for ice & snow studies as part of Polar studies. The paper discusses about the GPR instrument and initial test results along with calibration results.
