What is it about?

We study the QKDP BB84 in the case where an optimized attack is performed with taking into consideration two SPSs realizations, namely the Quantum Dot Embedded in Microcavity (QDEM) and the Heralded Single Photon Source (HSPS), and show the advantages of using QDEM compared to HSPS. Second, we show that optimized intrusion always permits to Eve to extract some information about the shared key and therefore, we propose an optimized version of the QKDP BB84 based on QDC that shut out Eve and prevents her from any access to the shared key.

Why is it important?

We estimate the success probability of the quantum circuit realizing the optimized QKDP BB84 version and show feasibility based on probabilistic optical gates.
