What is it about?

Six sigma quality control is possible for laser material processing if all the focal beam properties are monitored during the process. The patented BWA-CAM with the right sampling optics can provide real time focal spot monitoring of any process.

Why is it important?

If one has laser focus data that is tracked with each part manufactured, it is then possible to tighten the quality control parameters in real time and prevent out of spec components from being manufactured in the first place.

Perspectives

Knowing all the laser parameters for each part manufactured is important for any part that may eventually fail in the field as one can look back at the laser data and make quality control changes to prevent such failures in the future.
