What is it about?
Commercial kits for diagnosis of brucellosis use Brucella lipopolysaccharides (LPS) as target antigens that can result in false-positive results due to cross-reaction. Outer membrane proteins (OMP) are of great interest, as they are specific to the Brucella genus.

Why is it important?
We have shown that in the development of diagnostic kits for brucellosis not a single, but several recombinant proteins should be used.
Perspectives
The use of recombinant proteins significantly increase the specificity and sensitivity of serological tests for diagnosing brucellosis
