What is it about?

The review gives an overview of the successes of the dictionary and how it has been improved from the previous edition of 1988.

Why is it important?

Sensible, balanced reviews are a useful guide for people intending to purchase a dictionary. Unfortunately dictionary reviews are usually not very good, typically magnifying negative aspects by taking exception to one or two small points, or simply regurgitating the publisher's own promotional material. I strive to provide balanced reviews that give an overview of the work that deals with both strengths and weaknesses.

Perspectives

As a life-long scholar of Australian English, I really enjoyed poring through the pages of the dictionary and seeing the new insights it offers.
